About Greg
Greg Fauvergue owns and operates a cattle and grain company, Central Prime LLC, and a home site development company, Porch Light Development LLC. Greg and his wife, Stephanie, have three children and two grandchildren. Greg enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, gardening, fishing, and many other outdoor activities.
Dr. Richard Kenney
About Richard
Richard Kenney, DO, is a retired Rheumatologist who lives in Carl Junction, MO with his wife Theresa Kenney. He has been involved with and supported Ascent Recovery Residencies since 2012. He is a member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine. He previously served in the United States Navy. He is a graduate of what is now Truman State University, the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed a Rheumatology Fellowship at St Louis University Medical Center. He presently serves on the Board of Directors of Jasper County CASA, is a Trustee of the Jasper County Mental Health Board, and is a member of the Missouri Southern ‘State University Lionbackers Club. He previously served on the Advisory Council to the Missouri Department of Behavioral Health from 2015 to 2021.
Kim Landers
About Kim
Kim Landers is a founding board member for Ascent Recovery Residences. She has a marketing/sales degree from Southwest Missouri University, is a member of Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church, and is very active in her children’s activities. She is involved with Redwood Development, a business her father started.
Teresa Brown
About Teresa
Teresa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in social work from Southwest Missouri State University. She worked as the Community Relations Representative for the family McDonalds franchise for man years. In 1998 her family opened the local Ronald McDonald House and Teresa has served on its Board of Directors since its inception. Teresa is an active board member on behalf of Ascent Recovery Residences.
Bryan Simpson
About Bryan
Bryan is a vice president and owner of BBC Electric in Joplin. He has worked at BBC since his family purchased the company in 2005. BBC is an electric utility contractor which builds and maintains power lines. Prior to that Bryan worked as a pharmacist for May’s Drug in Joplin. Bryan has lived in Joplin since 2000 and has been involved in the recovery community since 2005.
Sam Newton
About Sam
Sam Newton is from Joplin, MO. He is a 2018 ASCENT Graduate and continues to remain active in ASCENT as a sponsor and mentor for ASCENT participants. He is employed as a Master Technician at Leggett and Platt.
Scott Vorhees
About Scott
Scott Vorhees is a partner at the Johnson, Vorhees & Martucci law firm and has more than 20 years of experience as an attorney. Scott grew up in Joplin and is a very active citizen. He serves on the boards of The United Way, The Alliance of SWMO, the Joplin Regional Community Foundation, and Building Bridges. He is committed to bettering himself and his communities and is very supportive of the recovery fellowship and the Joplin community.
David O’Neill
About David
David O’Neill has proudly served on the board of Ascent Recovery Residences and the ROCC since July 2021. Clean and sober and in recovery since 2015, David strongly believes that the 12 Steps, helping fellow addicts, and serving the community are the cornerstones of a serene and productive life. David moved to Joplin from St. Louis in 2012 and works in marketing for Freeman Health System.
